American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS)

The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is dedicated to the health and beauty of the eyes and face. Founded in 1969, ASOPRS now has over 650 US and 100 international members in over 30 countries around the world dedicated to facial rejuvenation and disorders of the eyelids, eye socket and tear drainage system.
The Society publishes the scientific journal, Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, hosts an annual members-only spring conference and every autumn, sponsors the largest international meeting dedicated to oculofacial plastic surgery in the world.
ASOPRS approves and oversees over 60 fellowship training programs throughout the country and administers the written and oral board examinations that are given upon completion of these highly competitive, 2-year training programs.
Physician eye doctors must have completed extensive clinical and surgical training, published scholarly research and passed rigorous written and oral examinations in order to become members of ASOPRS.
Mission:
The mission of ASOPRS is to advance education, research, and the quality of clinical practice in the fields of aesthetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery specializing in the face, orbits, eyelids and lacrimal system.
