The Canadian Association for Neuroscience (CAN) is the largest association of neuroscientists in Canada. Their members dedicated to advancing brain research. Their association is composed of over one thousand researchers, who work at academic institutions across the country. They share the common goal of ensuring neuroscience remains one of the greatest research and innovation strengths of Canada.

The objectives of the Canadian Association for Neuroscience are:
• To promote communication among neuroscientists in Canada.
• To advocate for the interests of Canadian neuroscientists nationally and internationally.
• To promote research in all disciplines that contribute to our understanding of the nervous system.
• To contribute to the advancement of education in neuroscience.
• To contribute and assist in the dissemination to the public of the results of current research in neuroscience and to show its importance for health and disease.
• To find the financing necessary to achieve the objectives presented above.
