Purpose of the Society:
• The German Society for Cell Biology pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes within the meaning of the “Tax-privileged Purposes” section of the Fiscal Code.
• Its purpose is to promote science.
• This statutory purpose is realized in particular by representing the interests of cell biology as an independent, multidisciplinary and subject-integrating science inside and outside of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Society should provide its members with information from foreign and international cell biology associations about activities in the field of cell biology and related sciences (conferences, method courses, collaborative projects, scholarships, exchange of scientists, etc.) and vice versa, the corresponding information from the German area to the relevant foreign or international institutions forward onto. It is also intended to make a limited contribution to the financing of certain scientific activities in Germany and abroad and to serve as a central information point for supply and demand for jobs and grants for cell biologists. The society is to hold workshops and congresses and develop proposals for improving the status of German cell biology in certain fields.
