In January 1970, the International College of Psychosomatic Medicine (ICPM) was founded by a group of renowned international physicians during the International Congress hosted by the Argentine Society of Psychosomatic Medicine and the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine (USA). This was in response to professionals’ demand in the field for an international psychosomatic society.
Mission:
The association aims to foster the development of psychosomatic medicine. This includes the study, education, and application of knowledge and skills in the bio-psycho-social aspects of brain-behavior-health-disease relationships. The association also aims to encourage collaboration among researchers, educators, and practitioners of psychosomatic medicine worldwide and facilitate communication and collegiality among individuals and organizations that share or support the objectives of ICPM.
