The Mississippi Optometric Association is dedicated to promoting the eye health and vision care of all Mississippians. MOA is a nonprofit organization, and Their membership includes more than 240 optometrists from across the state. Doctors of optometry are not just the primary healthcare providers for your eye and vision care, they are also trained and trusted guardians of your general health and well-being. Optometrists have extensive, ongoing training to examine, diagnose, treat, and manage disorders, diseases, and injuries of the eyes. 85 percent of comprehensive exams are conducted by optometrists (2013, AOA), which connect vision with ocular health, as well as detect other health conditions such as diabetes and neurological problems.
