The Historical Archive of the University of Athens (IA.EKPA), is the most important and largest higher education institution in our country file. Its collections, which include more than 2,000,000 records, reflected not only the history of the first Greek University (founded: 1837), but largely in the country, and the University of Athens was one of the most influential factors social, cultural and scientific life of the independent state.

In 25 years of operation, the IA. UOA has advanced not only in the scientific collection and recording of evidence of history and the digitization and available electronically to the public of a large part of its collections (http://pergamos.lib.uoa.gr/). He has served and continues to serve a large number of researchers, students (undergraduate and graduate), doctoral candidates, professors and academic from Greece and abroad. She even organized conferences and seminars on the History of Higher Education, has conducted special research on modern and contemporary history of education and science, collaborating with European universities and institutions in related research areas.
