New England Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Inc. (NESPRS)

Nashua, New Hampshire, United States of America

The New England Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Inc., is one of the oldest regional plastic surgery societies.

It was organized by four forward-thinking plastic surgeons, Drs. Bradford Cannon, Samuel Climo, and Richard P. Sexton, headed by Dr. Radford C. Tanzer, who would go on to become a pioneer in ear reconstruction.

The four first met in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1959; and all believed that bringing plastic surgeons together from the New England states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont would provide the opportunity to promote educational and research activities, improve the rapport among colleagues, and increase scientific knowledge.

Mission:
• To promote educational and research activities in the field of plastic surgery
• To improve standards of practice of plastic and reconstructive surgery
• To generate within its membership an increase in scientific knowledge
• To improve rapport between the plastic surgeons, patient, and the general public
• To promote and encourage the highest standards of ethical conduct among plastic and reconstructive surgeons practicing in New England
• To provide a medium for the exchange of information, ideas, and knowledge relating to the art, science, and development of plastic surgery
