The Ohio Hematology Oncology Society was organized in 1994 to advocate for, educate and inform practicing Oncologists and Hematologists. Originally formed to represent medical Oncologists in Ohio and West Virginia, the organization has expanded its scope to include Hematologists and other professionals on the cancer care team. The Society is dedicated to assisting Oncologists and Hematologists in the delivery of the highest quality patient care by providing a forum to exchange ideas and by representing their interests and those of patients before governmental entities, insurance carriers, pharmaceutical companies and the public. We currently represent 160 physician members in Ohio. The Society is a state affiliate for the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Association of Community Cancer Centers and works closely with other health care organizations such as the American Society of Hematology, and the Ohio State Medical Association.
The Ohio Hematology Oncology Society represents over 200 physicians that specialize in the practice of Hematology and Oncology (blood disorders and cancer). The Society is a non-profit corporation formed to address the growing needs of Oncologists and Hematologists in community practice in Ohio.
Membership in the Society is open to practicing Oncologists and Hematologists in Ohio, their staff, academic institutions and corporate entities involved in the care and treatment of cancer patients.
