The Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology is a unique initiative of parents of children with cancer and professionals in pediatric oncology in the Netherlands to combine all top expertise in care and research in one national center. This is necessary because cancer is still the most common cause of death from disease at a young age and the cure rate has barely increased in the past 10 years. Concentrating the treatment and research of all forms of childhood cancer in one center is an essential step towards better quality and higher survival rates.
