Rehabilitation Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand (RMSANZ)
North Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
The Establishment Working Group was formed in 2014 to work towards forming a society for rehabilitation medicine that would be a separate entity from the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (AFRM/RACP). The purpose for establishing a society and the development work of the working group are set out in this brief history of the establishment of the RMSANZ.
Vision & Mission:
The RMSANZ is a membership driven, not for profit organisation which was initially formed to
• maintain the professional identity of Rehabilitation Physicians
• advocate for their patients in a way that is flexible and allows us to maintain control
• preserve and build our external relationships with our allied health and nursing colleagues, with other bodies including governments and in the international rehabilitation arena; and
• promote professional education.
