Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (SOMANZ)

SOMANZ (Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australia and New Zealand) was formed in 2004 following the amalgamation of ASSHP (Australasian Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy) and OMGA (the Obstetric Medicine Group of Australasia).

SOMANZ is a not‐for‐profit association incorporated in NSW with the Department of Fair Trading.

Mission:
• To improve outcomes for all women with medical disorders related to pregnancy.
• To promote clinical excellence in pregnancy-related medical disorders through collaboration between health practitioners.
• To foster the highest levels of training and education in Obstetric Medicine.
• To provide a supportive academic environment and to encourage basic and clinical research.
