The Swiss Society for Gastroenterology (hereinafter referred to as SGGSSG) is an association within the meaning of Article 60ff of the Swiss Civil Code.
She is the representative of all specialists in gastroenterology in educational and professional policy matters and is therefore a specialist society within the meaning of the FMH statutes. It recognizes this as binding for itself and its members. It is a multidisciplinary scientific forum for all doctors and scientists with university degrees who deal with the digestive organs and their diseases.
The SGGSSG emerges from the merger of SGGH and FAGAS (SGGH = Swiss Society for Gastroenterology and Hepatology, a multidisciplinary, scientific organization, founded in 1935; FAGAS = Association of Swiss Gastroenterologists FMH, an organization for professional policy issues and part of the FMH organization, founded in 1992).
The SGGSSG performs the tasks and functions of the specialist societies in accordance with the FMH statutes.
