The Mexican Association of Food Sciences, AMECA, AC, was constituted in November 2005 with Deed No. 115534 registered in the City of Durango, but with a national character, with the purpose of offering its services through its members, of all kinds of support to the different sectors of society, in the search for solutions to achieve a better social, economic and industrial level.

Mission:
Bring together specialists in food science to strengthen this area, through socializing the relevance of this science in the well-being of the population, contributing as a consultative body in the different social, professional, and governmental spheres, becoming a pillar of support for the professional performance of its members.

Vision:
Become a professional association, with a national character and international recognition that collaborates with society at the different governmental, municipal, state and national levels, in those issues related to food science.

Objectives:
• Promote food sciences and spread knowledge and its application through publications and popular conferences.
• Stimulate and maintain interest in basic and applied research in food sciences in Mexico.
• Promote communication and cooperation between professionals and intellectuals immersed in the study, research and development of food sciences and those of the food industry.
• Contribute to the teaching of food sciences in the Mexican Republic, both at the basic levels, as well as at the upper and higher levels.
• Participate with proposals and join commissions with the three levels of government, in the dissemination and regulation of food.
• Manage subsidies from the Federal Government, the states and the municipalities, to partially or totally cover the expenses that the work demands for the achievement of the objectives of the Association.
• Promote the linking of researchers with the Industrial Sector through stays in the industry, as well as stays for industry professionals in higher education institutions and research and development centers.
• Promote the participation of researchers in applied research projects that contribute to the resolution of the national problem of the food industry.
