Dr. Altman is a licensed psychologist and geropsychologist currently working as an Associate Psychologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital in the Department of Psychiatry. She is also appointed at the level of Instructor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Altman received her doctoral degree (PhD) in Counseling Psychology from Lehigh University. She served as a Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School while completing a post-doctoral fellowship at VA Boston/Boston Consortium in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Geropsychology.
Dr. Altman has generalized training in general psychiatry (e.g., Anxiety disorders, Mood disorders), as well as specializations in health/medical psychology (including a focus on health behavior change), substance abuse, and geropsychology/ neuropsychology. She has trained numerous disciplines in Motivational Interviewing, including nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, physicians, chiropractors, hair stylists/ aestheticians, personal trainers, nutritionists, and social workers.
