Abhisek Swaika MBBS, MD

Abhishek Swaika, MD is an Assistant Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo, and fellowship from Mayo Clinic, Florida, where he also served as the Chief Fellow. Thereafter he joined Mayo Clinic, Florida, and held academic appointments as Assistant Professor of Medicine and Oncology.

Dr. Swaika has been actively involved in clinical trials and has authored several articles in major peer-reviewed scientific journals. He has presented his research findings at National and International conferences including the Annual Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. He is the recipient of the prestigious ASH abstract achievement award. Dr. Swaika is fluent in English, Bengali and Hindi.

Dr. Swaika was drawn towards oncology as it proved to be appealing both as a quickly changing field and one that’s intellectually fascinating. He also likes how the field allows him to forge long-term, compassionate patient connections—bringing together the science and care he’s cultivated from the start.
