Ahmed Alamry MD, MHA, FRCPC

A senior executive and physician with over 24 years of experience in clinical medicine, healthcare management, leadership and transformation, quality improvement, patient safety, public health, and academia. He is currently the General Director (CEO) of the Ministry of Defense Health Services(MODHS), the second-largest publicly funded healthcare system in Saudi Arabia with 25 hospitals, more than 140 PHC of various sizes, and academic entities. Leading the transformation efforts of the system to meet the strategic goals of the MOD, optimizing the current services from patient care to train and research to meet his vision of being a leading healthcare system. Previously he served as the Secretary-General of the Saudi Health Council (SHC) reporting to the Minister of Health and Chairmen of the SHC. The SHC is responsible for regulating the Saudi health system, the national health strategy, and healthcare regulations, and managing and coordinating between provider and regulatory entities. He also served as the executive director of QPS responsible for leading strategies and executing, supporting, and ensuring the effective delivery of safe, effective, and reliable healthcare delivery across the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs( MNGHA)System, reporting to the CEO of MNGHA. As part of his academic career, he served as the Dean of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. During his tenure as Dean, he was responsible for setting the college strategies and managing all academic, research, and services provided by the college. As a practicing physician, he worked in different health care systems within Canada during my training and in Saudi Arabia. As a consultant emergency physician, responsible for managing patients, training residents, and running the department during his clinical duties.
