Dr. Lankarani joined Borland Groover in 2012 from the Mayo Clinic hospital. He moved to Jacksonville from Pittsburgh after finishing his training in gastroenterology at the Drexel University- West Penn Allegheny Health System. Dr. Lankarani studied internal medicine at the Johns Hopkins University-Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.
Dr. Lankarani is a member of the Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Center (ATEC) at Borland Groover and performs advanced endoscopic procedures for diagnosis and treatment of pre-cancerous and early cancers of gastrointestinal tract. His is especially interested in endoscopic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and has been the lead investigator on the international multi-center study for endoscopic anterior fundoplication using MUSE system. His research interest mainly involves development of a new classification system used for personalized endoscopic treatment of GERD.
