Alicia Gil-Ramirez has a Degree in Biology (2008) and Food Science and Technology (2009), both from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). She received a doctorate cum laude in Biology and Food Sciences in 2015 from the UAM after defending her doctoral thesis “New hypocholesterolemic compounds obtained from edible mushroom”. She has two short pre-doctoral stays as a scientific collaborator at the "Wageningen Research Center" (Wageningen, The Netherlands) and at the "Institute of Chemical and Biochemistry Technology" (Prague, Czech Republic). In April 2016 she joined the department of Analytical Chemistry at Lund University. with a postdoctoral fellowship granted by the "Sten K. Johnson Foundation" (1-year duration). Stay that she continued for two more years and two months after obtaining a "Marie Sklodowska Curie- Individual Fellowship" contract (MSCA-IF-2016). In January 2019, the UAM joined the Institute of Food Sciences (CIAL, CSIC-UAM) as a postdoctoral researcher with a Juan de la Cierva Incorporación contract (IJC2018-035972-I) that was extended until obtaining the position as Assistant Doctor in the Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Bromatology (UAM), where he currently exercises his teaching and research functions.
Dr. Alicia Gil Ramírez has more than 25 publications in scientific journals of high international prestige, such as Scientific Reports-Nature, a book chapter, as well as a significant number of presentations at national and international conferences. She has participated in science outreach programs such as an interview with Horizon: The EU Research and Innovation Magazine ( https://horizon-magazine.eu/article/transplant-recipients-may-soon-have-test-protect-against- organ-rejection.html ) or the European Researchers' Night. She has participated in the organization of several international conferences such as the Euro analysis 2017 conference. In turn, regarding her evaluation and review tasks, she has been part of the evaluation commission for final master's projects (CETA, UAM) in various calls, acting as a member and secretary in the defense of two doctoral theses defended at the UAM (2019 and 2020) as well as reviewed scientific papers in high-impact scientific journals such as Carbohydrate Polymers or Journal of Functional Foods
