Alim P. Mitha MD, SM, FRCSC

Alim Mitha is an Associate Professor at the University of Calgary. He is a Cerebrovascular/Endovascular/Skull Base Neurosurgeon at the Foothills Medical Centre, He is also Co-founder, President, and Chief Technology Officer of Fluid Biotech Inc. He completed his doctorate of medicine at the University of Alberta and subsequently his residency training in neurosurgery at the University of Calgary.

During this time, he was named one of Avenue Calgary’s Top 40 under 40 in 2008. Following his residency, he completed two years of clinical fellowships at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona; one year in cerebrovascular/skull base neurosurgery, and an additional year in endovascular neurosurgery. During residency, Alim completed a master’s degree in biomedical engineering at Harvard University, allowing him to cultivate his research interests. Dr. Mitha was recruited to the University of Calgary as an assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences in 2011. He has published more than 40 articles about neurosurgery and written chapters in textbooks.
