Dr. Allen Lai is the Regional Managing Director of ACT Genomics Singapore. Dr. Allen Lai’s role is to strategize the ACTG/SG’s development, planning and execution in Southeast Asia in order to attain business goals of the board and shareholders; to identify key issues of cancer genomics business and to lead overall vision for the cross functional synergy and continued expansion of NGS applications within and beyond. Dr. Lai holds several high key profile roles as President of ISPOR, Singapore Regional Chapter and concurrently the Consultant in Urology, and Advisor for Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Taiwan. He is also widely consulted by drug/device companies’ regulatory agencies, and multilateral organizations on market access.
He was the principal consultant at IMS Health Asia, a leading global information and technology services company in the healthcare industry, and the director of Institute of Health Economics & Management and the academic director of MSc Management of Health Industries in ESSEC Business School. He was also the attending physician in National Taiwan University Hospital and Taipei City Hospital. His areas of interest and expertise includes Precision medicine in cancer care, Pathway-based cancer genomics, Comparative health policy in Asia, Market access strategy, Health economic evaluation and Strategic alliances & turnaround. He has authored more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Lai received a Ph.D. and an MPA from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, M.Sc. (Preventive Medicine) from National Taiwan University and M.D. from Chung Shan Medical Dental University, Taiwan.
