Amanda Cooper Cohn MD, MPH

Dr. Amanda Cohn currently serves as the executive secretary of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She was formerly the deputy director of the Immunization Services Division for the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD). She obtained her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and completed a residency in pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital and Boston Medical Center, MA. 

Dr. Cohn came to the CDC in 2004 as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer and was a medical epidemiologist in the Meningitis and Vaccine Preventable Diseases Branch (MVPDB) from May 2014, where she focused on meningococcal disease, both domestically and internationally. She served as the CDC lead of the ACIP meningococcal vaccine working group and has written multiple updates to the meningococcal conjugate vaccine recommendations in the US. She is the recipient of the CDC 2009 Iain Hardy Memorial Award for outstanding contributions to vaccine-preventable diseases.
