Andreas Pfutzner MD, PhD

Prof. Andreas Pfutzner is Managing Director of the Pfutzner Science & Health Institute, Diabetes Center & Practice in Mainz, Germany, focussing on insulin and insulin analogues, diabetes technology and medical device development.

He is also Honorary Professor of Applied Clinical Research for the University of Applied Sciences in Bingen, Germany and holds positions on the boards of directors of several diabetes-focused companies and non-profit institutions. Prof. Pfutzner has performed more than 350 clinical studies as Principal Investigator or Investigator, including over 100 clinical research projects with diabetes-related technologies. He has published more than 750 full papers, abstracts and book articles covering areas including diabetes, endocrinology and drug development, and his research has won numerous awards.
