Dr. Anthony Li, MBBS, MRCP, MD is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist. Dr Li graduated with distinction from St George’s University of London in 2004 after gaining an intercalated BSc in cardiovascular pharmacology and achieving a number of academic awards. He did his general medical and cardiology training in London and Surrey and spent 5 years training in the management of cardiac rhythm disorders including complex atrial and ventricular ablation as well as implantable devices.
Dr Li also undertook 3 years of research for a post-doctoral degree on mapping and ablation of ventricular arrhythmias where he worked on developing a novel method for rapidly locating the source of these arrhythmias to aid ablation.
Dr. Li completed his training in London and then undertook a period of study at the world-renowned UCLA cardiac arrhythmia center in Los Angeles under the tutelage of Professor Kalyanam Shivkumar where he learned cutting-edge strategies for the treatment of ventricular arrhythmias. On his return, Dr. Li took up his consultant post at St. George’s in 2017 where he introduced neuromodulation for the treatment of refractory ventricular tachycardia.
Together with Dr. Magdi Saba, Dr. Li is part of the highly specialized ventricular arrhythmia management program that offers novel therapies for difficult-to-control arrhythmias including epicardial and bipolar ablation. Dr Li has published internationally in the field of ventricular arrhythmias and is involved in multiple research projects in this field.
Dr. Li's research interests are Cardiology, Cardiac Electrophysiology, Catheter Ablation, Interventional Cardiology, Atrial Fibrillation, Electrocardiography, Heart Diseases
