Dr. Anthony L. Rios graduated from the vascular surgery fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center, the second-oldest vascular fellowship in the country. He was accepted into the BA/MD program at Tufts University as a college sophomore and he completed his surgical training at the Hofstra-North Shore- Long Island Jewish General Surgery Residency Program. At the first available opportunity, he obtained board certification in General Surgery, scoring among the highest on the qualifying exam, and also obtained board certification in Vascular Surgery. As an avid pianist and alumnus of the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Division, he performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall. He has a strong interest in teaching. He created a college course in musical practice and performance technique and he has always prioritized teaching medical students and mentoring his colleagues in training. His training at Baylor has provided me with a well-rounded set of skills in both open vascular and endovascular surgery. Additionally, He is involved in several research projects and most recently authored a chapter in Rutherford's Vascular Surgery, the preeminent vascular surgery textbook used throughout the world. His wish is to continue his emphasis on patient-centered care while offering the most current surgical techniques available.
