Dr Khan joined the faculty and staff of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in March 2017 after serving 9 years on the faculty in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School of Rutgers University. Prior to that he completed residency and fellowship at the Rush University Medical Center and the Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard, respectively. Dr Khan treats patients with breast, CNS, and pediatric tumors requiring radiation therapy (RT).

Since starting, Dr Khan has developed major research initiatives in the study of hypofractionated breast radiotherapy. He is the principal investigator of 3 breast fractionation trials, one of which is a multi-institutional trial. In addition, Dr Khan is interested in the study of novel radiosensitizers and has devoted his time to the study of these agents in the basic science setting.
