Augusto Miravalle, MD, is an associate professor of neurology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He also is the associate chair for education and chief of the multiple sclerosis division. Dr. Miravalle received his medical degree at the University of La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He completed his neurology residency training at Loyola University, where he served as chief resident of education. He subsequently completed a clinical neuroimmunology fellowship at Harvard University.
Dr. Miravalle subspecializes in multiple sclerosis and related neuro-immunological disorders of the brain and spinal cord. He is particularly interested in gray matter pathology, specifically neocortical volume changes and cortical lesions and their impact on cognitive and physical disability. Dr. Miravalle has been involved in clinical and basic science research. He is a member of many professional societies and advisory boards. He has published numerous scientific articles and has served as a consultant to various scientific organizations.
