Dr. Babar Hasan completed his medical degree from the Aga Khan University in 1999. He then did his pediatric residency from Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana University School of Medicine, followed by Fellowship in general Pediatric Cardiology, advanced cardiac imaging, and interventional cardiology from, Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
He is Diplomate American Board of Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. Dr. Hasan is currently working as Associate Professor in department of pediatric and child health and is the former Service Line Chief, Children’s Hospital at AKU. Dr. Hasan has more than 12 years of experience in clinical services, education, and research. His areas of research interest are, developing quality metrics and role of value-based health care in low-middle income countries (LMICs). Additionally, he has an interest in use of artificial intelligence (AI) in LMICs with the purpose of task sharing and intelligence augmentation of low skilled health care providers like lady and community health workers.
He has been involved in establishing PCHFs research division and is actively involved in guiding the direction of research being carried out.
