Bob Woodwards

Bob is a consultant in Oral and maxillofacial surgery at Pennine Acute NHS trust he was appointed in 1994, and has developed a large Head and Neck Cancer Unit there. His surgical interests are in the field of head and neck cancer, ablation and microvascular and other reconstruction he has served as Chair of the OMFS SAC from 2008-2010 and was President of BAOMS, his national specialty association in 2011.

He was appointed to the post of Chair in Surgical simulation at the RCSEd in December 2010 and since his appointment to this post he has been very involved with the support of the JCST simulation group in getting the curriculum content of all 10 surgical specialties identified this process is almost completed and will allow all the SAC's to present it to the GMC as a major amendment to their curricula. He is a member of the Simulation Board of the College and will be working with them to develop a mapping process of simulation facilities across Scotland.
