Brett Daniel Kaylor, DO, MA, is a board-certified Addiction Medicine physician and Psychiatrist who specializes in the theoretical and clinical applications of Relational Frame Theory (RFT) to addiction and mental health, with emphasis on process-based cognitive-behavioral therapies in the forms of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP) in individual and group settings. His interests are in working with patients on facilitating behavior change utilizing acceptance and mindfulness skills, helping patients reconnect with their values, discover where they find meaning in life and develop motivation for change.
Dr. Kaylor served as Assistant Professor of Addiction Medicine and Psychiatry at Augusta University for a year before transitioning to Denver Health in Denver, CO, where he worked as an Addiction and Psychiatric provider in Denver Health's outpatient substance use and behavioral health services, while also a clinical instructor in Addiction Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine fellowships for the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is now currently undergoing a transition to the Providence Medical Center in Newberg, OR to be closer to family in the Pacific Northwest, where he will be building an integrated primary care addiction practice.
