Brian Chapman PhD

Dr. Brian Chapman studied electrical engineering and applied mathematics prior to earning a Ph.D. in medical informatics at the University of Utah. Prior to joining the University of Melbourne, Dr. Chapman held faculty positions at the University of Pittsburgh, the University of California, San Diego, and the University of Utah.

He approaches biomedical informatics with a bias toward improving the patient experience and empowering patients to become team leaders in managing their health. He also believes you can never have enough mathematics and that biomedical informatics needs to return to its mathematical roots.
