Brian Malcolm

Qualified Edinburgh 1981;interest in dermatology started with a clinical assistant post at North Devon District Hospital in 1988 progressing through the ranks to becoming Associate Specialist in 2005.He has been a member of the PCDS since its inception and is a long serving committee member and former treasurer. He represented the PCDS on the national "Action on Dermatology" programme. He is a former winner of the prestigious "Doctor of the Year" award in dermatology as well as the RCGP Paul Freeling award for education and also "achieved Beacon Status" for his practice.
He retired as senior partner at Litchdon Medical Centre, Barnstaple at the end of 2015 after almost 30 years but continues in his roles as a community dermatologist and Associate Specialist. He authored the very successful "Core Tutorials in Dermatology for Primary Care" and was a long term examiner for both the Cardiff and Glasgow diplomas. His particular interests are skin cancer, skin surgery, dermoscopy and education.
