Professor Dr. Bulent Ozpolat MD, Ph.D. works as a faculty at the Department of Nanomedicine at Houston Methodist Research Institute and Neal Cancer Center in Houston, USA. Dr. Ozpolat has expertise in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Genetics, the Development of highly targeted cancer nanotherapeutics, and Gene and MicroRNA therapies. After getting his M.D. degree from Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir Turkey Dr. Ozpolat received his Ph.D. degree in Immunology from The University of Texas- MD Anderson Cancer Center Houston where he completed post-doctoral training and served as a faculty for more than 15 years at Department of Experimental Therapeutics and MD Anderson Cancer Center
Dr. Ozpolat has 5 patents for the development of targeted therapeutics and published more than 140 publications (H-index 52, 12000 citations ) in peer-reviewed high-impact journals. Dr. Ozpolat’s research is supported by a grant project from NIH/NCI who also serves as a permanent member of the study section.
Dr. Ozpolat is currently serving as editor at 2 international journals including Cancers, and Non-Coding RNA. Dr. Ozpolat’s laboratory focuses on the development of targeted therapeutics for cancer including small molecule inhibitors, and non-coding RNA/microRNA Therapeutics for breast, pancreatic, and lung cancers, melanoma, leukemia, and brain tumors.
