Cagri Besirli MD, PhD, FASRS

Dr. Besirli is an Associate Professor and the Skillman Research Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Michigan. He is a clinician-scientist and has dedicated his career to improving vision in children and adults with retinal disorders. Dr. Besirli specializes in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous as well as the management of acquired and inherited pediatric retinal disorders. His laboratory research focuses on modulating retinal metabolism to identify novel targets for ocular neuroprotection.
