s co-founder and co-chair of the EAPC taskforce on Spiritual Care in Palliative Care it is easy to guess what my great passion is: to help developing spiritual care in an European (and global) context. I am deeply convinced that we can learn much from each other and achieve great things in an open minded atmosphere. The successful development of the taskforce Spiritual Care in the last three years has shown this in many ways. As European countries we have many valuable experiences to share. The EAPC is a great place to do so, the Spiritual Care taskforce has taught me, and much more can be achieved here in the future for our patients and their families. Being a board member, however, one has to have a broader perspective than one’s own passion, and be able to blend in and contribute to the teamwork that takes place there serving the larger goal of good quality palliative care that is accessible worldwide. As a board member in the past few years I have been able to use my experience in discussing and building bridges, drawing on my experience in my own multi-cultural country where delicate end-of-life issues divide people. Because I think good communication is at the basis of every cooperation I am also a member of the EAPC social media team.
