Carol A. Ford, MD, is Chief of the Craig-Dalsimer Division of Adolescent Medicine at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She holds the Orton P. Jackson Endowed Chair in Adolescent Medicine. She particularly enjoys working with adolescents, a patient group she feels has traditionally been overlooked by the overall healthcare system. “The health needs of all adolescents and young adults interest me.
She chose Adolescent Medicine to make a difference in the lives of adolescents and young adults, which involves helping young people and their families with a variety of health issues and behaviors,” she says. Dr. Ford believes a big part of caring for adolescent patients is working with their families as well. “CHOP is a place that helps families raise healthy children all the way through to adulthood. We do not overlook the importance and complexity of raising adolescents,” she says.
