Dr Carole Fry is a specialist consultant with wide-ranging experience in the field of conservation and architectural history. She worked for fifteen years in the public sector, which included a period with English Heritage in the Parks and Gardens team, before progressing to the London Borough of Harrow as Conservation Officer, and latterly to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council as Principal Conservation Officer. Carole holds an MSc in Historic Conservation from Oxford Brookes University, which she completed before embarking on a PhD in neo-Palladian architecture at the University of Bristol. Carole writes a regular column on aspects of architectural history for Context and has been a director of AHC for six years, combining a strong academic background with practical conservation and commercial capabilities.
