Cecilia Pompili MD, MS, PhD, FACS

Dr. Cecilia Pompili is currently working as a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Verona Integrated University Hospital in Italy. Cecilia joined the group in 2015 during the preparation of a successful application for funding to the Yorkshire Cancer Research Grant entitled “Curative treatment modalities of early stage Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer: Effect on Patient Reported Outcomes of Video Assisted Thoracoscopic (VATS) Resection and Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SABR)”. Cecilia trained in medicine and specialized in Thoracic Surgery in Italy with a Thesis investigating the residual quality of life after lung cancer surgical treatment. She is in the GMC Specialist Registry since 2014.

Dr. Cecilia worked as Trust Doctor in the Thoracic Department of Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust where she was able to combine her clinical skills with the research drive, implementing and standardizing the routine collection of quality-of-life information in lung cancer patients
