Cesare Cejas gained his PhD in Materials Physics and Chemistry from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie – Paris VI in 2013 (now Sorbonne Universités) with a focus on fluid dynamics and soft materials. After that, he did two long-term post-docs at ESPCI Paris (a top French engineering school) until 2019 both revolving around the domain of microfluidics and microfabrication but with different applications. His first post-doc worked in collaboration with the pharmaceutical company, Sanofi, on drug administration and injection in small narrow needles or channels while the second post-doc focused more on rheology and deformation of polymer gels and emulsions. In 2020, together with his co-founder, Antoine Espinet, we set up our start-up focusing on novel microfluidics-based applications related to cell and gene therapy. Antoine brought with him his expertise in engineering, the cell and gene therapy market, business management, and consulting having worked for McKinsey while he brought with him his expertise in microscale systems, microfluidics, and microfabrication engineering.
