Christine M. Disteche PhD

Christine Disteche, Ph.D., is a UW professor of Pathology and an adjunct professor of Medicine and Medical Genetics. She is one of the directors of UW Medicine’s Cytogenetics and Genomics Laboratory. Dr. Disteche aims to provide the most accurate and timely diagnosis of chromosome disorders. The field of cytogenetics and genomics changes quickly, so practitioners must keep current with new developments and research.

Dr. Disteche earned her Ph.D. at the University of Liege in Belgium. She is board certified in Clinical Cytogenetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics. Her clinical expertise is in cytogenetics and genome analysis. These clinical tests can detect chromosomal abnormalities or specific anomalies that distinguish cancers.
