Christopher Haines is an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics. Dr. Haines is board-certified in family medicine and has a certificate of added qualifications in geriatric medicine. Dr. Haines graduated from Jefferson Medical College in 1999, completed a residency in family medicine in 2002, and completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine in 2003. Dr. Haines served as chief resident during his final year of residency.

Dr. Haines primarily practices hospital medicine at the present time and is the director of the Department of Family and Community Medicine’s inpatient service. Dr. Haines is a member of the Clinical Performance Improvement Committee and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital's Hospital Medicine Council. As part of his responsibilities in the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, Dr. Haines teaches a portion of the curriculum for first year medical students, including sections on endocrine physiology. In addition, Dr. Haines teaches endocrine physiology, pulmonary physiology, renal physiology, and acid-base physiology in Jefferson’s Physician’s Assistant program.
