Dr. Gibson is a native of northern New Jersey. He completed his undergraduate at the University of Michigan, and medical school at the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, NE. He completed his pediatric training at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, and his pediatric endocrine training at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
Dr. Gibson is currently a board-certified pediatric Endocrinologist in the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. His interests include pubertal disorders (early or delayed) as well as disorders of sexual developments (DSDs). He is also involved in the CHOP Pituitary Center, as well as the Congenital Hyperinsulinism and Diabetes Centers. He is a member of the Diabetes consult service, providing consultations for hospitalized children with specialized forms of diabetes (cystic fibrosis related diabetes, steroid induced hyperglycemia). Dr. Gibson also participates in the Endocrine inpatient service of the Hospital that cares for children with congenital hyperinsulinism and type 1 diabetes.
He remains active in clinical research with such projects as “The Impact of Ovarian Reserve on Bone Density in Pediatric Cancer Survivors during Early Adulthood,” and “Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry Testing Prevalence in Female Cancer Survivors."
