Dr. Christos Tzivinikos is a Consultant Pediatric gastroenterologist. He completed his entire general and subspeciality pediatric training in the UK in renowned tertiary hospitals in London (King’s College, St. Georges’, Royal London). He completed an MSc with merit in Paediatric Gastroenterology at Queen Mary University London and the Institute of Child Health at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He is an elected Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in the UK. Prior to joining Al Jalila Children’s, Dr. Christos was the Chief of the Pediatric Gastroenterology Division at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, one of the largest pediatric hospitals in Europe.

He cares for pediatric and adolescent patients for all aspects of pediatric gastroenterology diseases and has a special interest in Inflammatory Bowel (IBD) and eosinophilic GI diseases (EGID) and also performs a wide range of endoscopic procedures including placement of endoscopic percutaneous gastrostomies from infants to adolescents. Dr. Christos has vast experience in running comprehensive multi-disciplinary feeding clinics for children with neurodisability and congenital heart disease and other chronic diseases. He is an elected member of the ESPGHAN Gastroenterology Committee 2018-2024 as well as an active member of the ESPGHAN IBD, Eosinophilic GI diseases and Endoscopy Working Groups participating in the development of new and up-to-date guidance for the management of GI disease in children.
