Dana M. Hartl MD, PhD

Dr. Dana M. Hartl is a surgeon in otolaryngology and cervicofacial surgery in the department of cervicofacial oncology at Gustave Roussy.

At Gustave Roussy since 2002, in addition to her activities as an oncological surgeon for tumors of the upper aerodigestive tract, she is responsible for the thyroid surgery unit at Gustave Roussy.

Doctor of Science from the University of Paris III, with a Habilitation to Direct Research from the University of Paris 5, Dana Hartl is involved in research projects in particular on cancers of the thyroid gland and on robotic surgery. She is the author of more than 120 English-language publications referenced in international peer-reviewed journals. It organizes teaching in thyroid surgery at Gustave Roussy with live surgery demonstrations, and online teaching with the Gustave Roussy School of Cancer Sciences.

Bilingual, French-English, Dr. Hartl is a member of numerous French and international learned societies, in particular, the American Head and Neck Society, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the International Society of Endocrine Surgeons, and the European Thyroid Association. In addition to her care, research, and teaching activities, she is an Expert in Otorhinolaryngology and face and neck surgery at the Court of Appeal of Paris.
