Dr. Dana O. Mato serves as the Director of the Behavioral Medicine Faculty, charged with the development and coordination of all aspects of the Family Medicine Residents’ training in Behavioral Medicine. She is a licensed pediatric psychologist who divides her time between psychotherapy, psychological testing, and training and consulting through her practice at Child Psychology Associates, P.A. Dr. Mato received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL. She completed her internship at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA and her postdoctoral fellowship at the San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Mato’s clinical practice is focused on providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, and families who present with depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral difficulties, and individual and family adjustment to major life stressors (e.g., chronic illness, divorce, grief). Dr. Mato also provides inpatient consultation and liaison with medical/surgical patients, including seriously medically ill children, and with individuals experiencing crisis.
