David Dietz MD

Dr. David Dietz is a Staff Surgeon in the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Born in York, Pennsylvania, David received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. He earned his M.D. degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He did an internship in general surgery at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, and completed his general surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. His training in Cleveland included a 2-year research fellowship. He then completed his colon and rectal surgery training at the Cleveland Clinic and served for 6 months as a Clinical Associate Surgeon. Subsequently, David joined the staff at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. In addition to his duties as a Staff Surgeon, he served as the Assistant Program Director of their training program. After 5 years in St. Louis, David was recruited back to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
