David Gerber, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine within the Hematology/Oncology Division at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Co-Director of the Experimental Therapeutics Program.
He graduated cum laude from Yale University in New Haven, Conn., and earned his medical degree at Cornell University Medical College in New York.He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at UT Southwestern, followed by a fellowship in medical oncology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore.
Dr. Gerber is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, and he holds medical licenses in both Texas and Maryland. He is active in research related to lung cancer, including clinical trials. His research has generated more than 100 publications that he has authored or co-authored, including articles, abstracts, book chapters, book reviews, and invited manuscripts. His studies have contributed to invitations to lecture both nationally and internationally.
He serves on a number of committees at UT Southwestern, and he is an active participant on the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Lung Cancer Education Committee and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer’s Career Development Committee. He also serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
