David P. Gurd MD

David P. Gurd, MD is the Head of Pediatric Spinal Deformity Surgery and the Medical Director for Supply Chain Management at Cleveland Clinic. He completed his undergraduate studies at Miami University (Ohio), received his medical degree from The Ohio State University, completed orthopedic surgery residency training at Cleveland Clinic and subspecialty fellowship training in pediatric orthopedics at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Gurdjoined the staff at Cleveland Clinic in 2007.

Dr. Gurd’s main interests include scoliosis and spine deformity to include congenital conditions, infantile scoliosis, kyphosis andspondylolisthesis. He also enjoys working with pediatric trauma,lower-extremity deformity and children’s hip conditions including hipdysplasia. He has specialized training in the fields of osteotomy for significantspine deformity and preservation of the hip joint in adolescents.
