David W Brandes, MS, MD, FAAN, MSCS, is a board-certified neurologist who currently practices at Hope Neurology/MS Center and serves as Clinical Instructor of Neurology at South College in Knoxville, TN. He received his master’s degree in biochemistry and his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he also completed his internship and neurology residency training. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), as well as a member of several AAN sections, and the American Heart Association Stroke Council. Dr. Brandes is an MS Certified Specialist by the Consortium of MS Centers. He has published 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals including Neurology and Current Medical Research and Opinion. Dr. Brandes is involved in a variety of MS research projects including immunosuppressive treatment, cerebrospinal fluid analysis, glatiramer acetate studies, beta-interferon studies, and medication adherence.
