Dr. Dean W. Hum is in charge of managing Genfit's R&D and product portfolio. Dr. Hum joined Genfit in 2000 and is responsible for building and directing Genfit’s scientific strategy. He coordinates directly with the CEO and works closely with the scientific directors and research scientists on all programs including Biomarkers and Drug Development in NASH.
In addition, Dr. Hum acts as a key member of Genfit's executive staff, establishing, implementing and ensuring overall coordination of short- and long-term strategies related to Genfit's programs and portfolio.
Dr. Hum earned a Doctorate in Biochemistry in 1990 from McGill University, followed by a post-doctoral Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Between 1994 and 2000, Dr. Hum joined Laval University (Canada), where he was Associate Professor, working with his research group on regulation of gene transcription and their role in metabolic diseases.
