Denise Vanacore PhD, RN, CRNP

Graduate Program Director and coordinator of the Adult Nurse Practitioner Program, Dr. Denise A. Vanacore has been a member of the Gwynedd Mercy University faculty since 1994. Her areas of expertise include nursing, medicine, health promotion and education, domestic violence, and nurse practitioner education. She received her associate and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from GMercyU, her master’s degree in nursing as an adult health nurse practitioner from GMercyU, her master’s degree in nursing with a focus on academic education from Villanova University and her doctorate in nursing from Walden University.

Dr. Vanacore is a registered nurse in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and has her nurse practitioner license in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is also the Director of the Primary Care Health Services at the Adult Health Center in Lansdale, Pa. Dr. Vanacore has presented nationally and internationally and is the author of an assessment textbook manual and a number of book chapters on a range of primary care topics. She is also the recipient of the Gwynedd Mercy University Alumni Award for Professional Achievement and is a member of the National League for Nursing, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty, Sigma Theta Tau, Iota Kappa Chapter (national honor society for nursing), among many others.
